After closing last July for an extensive expansion and renovation, Apple’s retail location at Bluewater in Kent, England is set to reopen on March 24th. While Apple’s retail website for the store hasn’t yet been updated, London resident Joe White noticed new signage posted on temporary construction walls at the store that lists the grand reopening date. The walls were previously blank throughout the remodeling process. In the interim, customers have been directed to a nearby store in Bromley....

Fortunately, with Excel 2013, there’s no need to fuss around in the View ribbon. Simply open two Excel spreadsheets and snap them to either side of the screen. Easy! The View ribbon is still available, as is the View Side by Side option. To use it, open two spreadsheets, then click View –> View Side by Side. By default, this will arrange your windows horizontally. You may want to collapse the ribbon (CTRL + F1) to get a little bit more viewing space....

Apple has just posted its developer documentation video explaining how apps can use the new complication types for the larger Apple Watch Series 4 display. These new complications are available on the Infograph and Infograph Modular watch faces. Both Apple and third party developers can take advantage of the new curved corner gauges, full color graphs and images in the middle of the Infograph modular watch, and the ability to show custom bezel text on nearly 180 degrees of the dial....

Ahead of the first M1-powered Macs arriving to customers next week, Blackmagic Design has released a new beta of its popular DaVinci Resolve video editor and color correction tool with Apple Silicon support. This means that DaVinci Resolve will run natively on your M1-powered Mac when it arrives. This beta version of DaVinci Resolve means that the software is now a universal app that runs natively on Macs powered by Apple Silicon and Intel....

New Girl is a charming sitcom following an awkward but kind-hearted girl named Jess (Zoey Deschanel) who moves in with three male roommates. According to a financial report released by publisher THQ Nordic today, developer Volition is working on an all-new entry in the Saints Row franchise and has been doing so for some time. Once a simple GTA-clone, Saints Row has since gone on to forge its own path in the gaming landscape by adding unrealistic but entertaining mechanics like alien VR simulations, ragdoll insurance fraud, and superpowers. THQ Nordic says they expect to launch a minimum of two AAA games before March of 2021 and strongly hinted that one of those would be a new Saints Row, which also has a movie coming from director F....

With iOS 8, Apple now allows developers to create alternative keyboards on iPhone and iPad that can be used almost anywhere to replace the system keyboard. We told you about several third-party keyboards for iOS 8 including when the major operating system update was released last month, and a few more interesting third-party keyboards have since been released. The first is an Emoji-only keyboard called Emoji++ that makes finding the right Emoji character much faster, and the second is both a language and symbol keyboard called Character Keyboard for typing out special characters....

Netflix has released a trailer for its new movie The Last Summer. Not to be confused with the 1997 cult slasher film, I Know What You Did Last Summer, the latest Netflix Original boasts host a host of familiar faces, including respective Riverdale and The Orville stars, K.J. Apa and Halston Sage. Although the streaming service is currently in talks to buy an actual movie theater, it will continue to bolster its catalog with fresh material in the meantime....

Netflix stocks dropped after Disney+ details were revealed. So far, 2019 has been a big year for Disney. Upcoming potential blockbusters like the live-action remake of Aladdin, as well as Toy Story 4 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker aside, The Mouse House recently completed their acquisition of Fox, and come next fall they’ll launch their own streaming service, Disney+. To date, Netflix has far and away been the leader in terms of streaming services, and many have gotten used to the provider’s unchallenged status....

Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza shopping district is poised to house an expanded and more modern Apple Store, sandwiched between retailers Neiman Marcus and Crate & Barrel in the heart of the plaza. The images show that while significant work remains, the majority of the building’s structure has been framed in, and the roof has been covered....

Tests by French site Mac4Ever.com found that current model Retina MacBook Pro machines can use their Thunderbolt 2 connections to drive the Sharp PN-K321 4K display at 60Hz when running Windows 8.1 with the latest NVidia drivers, rather than the 30Hz possible with OS X. This suggests that OS X will be able to do the same when Apple updates the rMBP video/Thunderbolt 2 drivers. While 30Hz is good enough for movies, our own Seth Weintraub found on his bargain Seiki that it gives a poor experience when scrolling webpages, and is of course completely unusable for games....

War for the Planet of the Apes is shaping up to be the darkest chapter yet in the ongoing saga of Caesar the ape (who’s once again portrayed via motion-capture by the acclaimed mo-cap performer, Andy Serkis). The newly-released second trailer for the next Planet of the Apes installment (see the preview above) further delivers on the promise of the movie’s title, showing Caesar and the rest of ape-kind preparing for their full-blown war with the surviving remnants of humanity....

I feel like it is Christmas every time I open my iPhone installer.app lately. Along with VNSea, NES and MobileChat, here comes another AMAZING developer-hacker application. I don’t see Apple having 1/2 of this stuff by the time the next release is out. AS a matter of fact, I don’t see a lot of hacked iPhones going legit any time soon. Back to Navizon: Using both cellular triangulation and a DB of Wifi hotspots and ISP IP addresses, Navizon is able to provide a semi-accurate view of where you are at a much faster rate than most GPS systems....

Ahead of its big Mac refresh tomorrow, Apple today has made a subtle change to iCloud.com. Where there used to be a “Home” quick link, Apple has recently updated the iconography to display a new “Launchpad” icon, similar to that on macOS. Now, when you click in the upper-right hand corner of any app and bring up icon grid, you’ll see a new “Launchpad” option where the previous “Home” icon was....

A new patent application by Apple hints at RF-based long-range wireless charging, along the lines of the Energous system which was recently granted FCC approval. As is usual with Apple patent applications, the wording is as general as possible – encompassing both wired and wireless charging – but the problem it aims to solve does appear to be one that arises primarily with long-range wireless charging … RF-based charging has two problems....

A new Lord of the Rings game will take an unlikely angle, putting players in the tumultuous and troubled mind of Gollum. The new action-adventure title will be developed by Daedalic Entertainment in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, and will be called The Lord of the Rings - Gollum. The Lord of the Rings franchise is unique in the sense that its licensing in video games takes on two different forms: one that is based explicitly on movie content from Peter Jackson’s films, and then another that is based on Tolkien’s books which is much easier to work with....

Some iMac Pro customers are waking up to a 5K present under the tree as early orders of the powerful new machine have begun arriving early on the doorsteps of a lucky few. New images posted to Instagram and a video on YouTube show the iMac Pro and Space Gray accessories in the hands of customers. Japanese site Mac Otakara posted a brief video and photos (Google Translate link) this morning demonstrating several benchmarking applications running on the iMac Pro, which starts at $4999 and is available in 8,10,14, and 18-core configurations....

Nest has introduced a pretty substantial update to its iOS and Android apps, bringing Nest Aware customers the ability to easily create, save, and share video clips straight from the Nest app. The iOS app also adds support for Apple TV, so you can quickly check out your Nest Cam feeds straight from your couch… In its blog post, Nest describes two ways that you can use the new version of the app to share video clips from your Nest Cam....
