Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams’ The Notebook gets an alternate ending in Netflix UK & Ireland. Almost everyone knows how Nicholas Spark-written novel-turned film ended, but fans from the other side of the pond got a slightly different version of the classic romantic movie which most of them weren’t happy about. Catapulting Gosling and McAdams to mainstream popularity, the 2004 movie directed by Nick Cassavetes featured the two playing star-crossed lovers Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton who met in 1940s South Carolina....

With the introduction of iOS 13.2, Apple added new features to its speech recognition APIs that allow third-party developers to perform on-device speech recognition, even when the device is offline. Today, Blueshift is releasing its brand new Dictation app that takes advantage of this new functionality. Most transcription services send the user’s speech to a cloud service to be processed. The main advantage of the on-device transcription is that – besides not requiring an internet connection and using bandwidth – it’s completely private since audio never leaves the user’s device....

Following the recent hire of a former Burberry and Nike social marketing executive to run Apple’s new social media arm, a few job listings on Apple’s website point to an attempt to bolster the company’s retail marketing team. A few of the positions were outlined by ifo Apple Store earlier today and seem to point toward an increased focus on building and maintaining customer loyalty to the Apple brand....

Apple’s refreshed MacBook Airs introduced earlier this month at WWDC certainly bring some major improvements over previous generations thanks to Intel’s 4th gen Haswell processors, 802.11ac WiFi, and other internal upgrades. However, while reviews have been quite positive and focusing on the up to 12 hour battery life, it appears some users are experiencing teething issues with the new machines, which isn’t exactly something new for the first release of a refreshed Apple product....

If one thing’s for certain about the current media landscape, it’s that there just aren’t enough different subscription streaming video services all competing for the consumer dollar. Or at least that’s what most content providers seem to think nowadays, with a continuing onslaught of new streaming services and/or over-the-top cable-style skinny bundles announced on a seemingly constant basis. According to a new report by Bloomberg, the latest media giant to throw its hat into the subscription video ring will be NBC Universal, or more accurately, their parent company Comcast....

Netatmo HomeKit Secure Video (HSV) support is now arriving for the company’s Smart Outdoor Cameras, following an update back in February for the Smart Indoor Cameras. The camera is designed to replace an existing outdoor light fitting, and is available with or without a siren. As promised, existing Outdoor Cameras will get the update within the next few days … The company made the announcement today. HSV adds additional functionality to the cameras, in addition to free iCloud storage....

Netflix has secured a deal for Voltage Pictures’ Ted Bundy biopic, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. The streaming platform is currently home to a docuseries Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, so the addition of the biopic is fitting. Zac Efron stars in the film as Bundy, the notorious killer who met his electric chair demise 30 years ago. The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival receiving mostly positive reviews, and Efron has already received praise for his near-perfect portrayal of Bundy....

Part two of Disenchantment, Netflix’s adult animation series from The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, gets a teaser trailer that drops a big hint about the fate of one of the series’ main characters. The animated series popped up on the streaming service last fall, delivering an irreverent take on fantasy tropes by following Bean (Abbi Jacobsen), a hard-drinking princess who’s none too eager to take part in the patriarchal rituals of father’s kingdom of Dreamland....

This latest drone flyover of Apple’s under construction Campus 2 project is perhaps our best look yet at the site that will soon become Apple’s main headquarters and home to around 13,000 of its employees. The footage comes courtesy of Duncan Sinfield (via MR). Since last checking in, you can see that Apple has now completed erecting most of the four stories that make up the main, circular structure. And if you’ve been keeping track (we have in our continually updated construction progress timeline), you’ll also notice that much of the surrounding campus taking shape with the underground auditorium, parking structure, R&D facilities and more all starting to look real....

My first impression upon opening the box was that it looks like the Neabot NoMo 2 has gone back to its design roots and has not built on the futuristic design of its predecessor. On getting the robot out of the box, I found a fairly ordinary auto-empty station and the robot vacuum itself. The auto-empty station looks very similar to the Ultenic T10 that I looked at in July 2021 with a digital display on the station....

Netflix’s new supernatural drama October Faction stars J.C. Mackenzie and Tamara Taylor as Fred and Deloris Allen, two monster-hunters who move back to their home town with their teenage twins, Geoff (Gabriel Darku) and Viv (Aurora Burghart). Based on the comics by Steve Niles and Damien Worm, October Faction features a rich cast of characters - some human, some not-so-human. When the series begins, Geoff and Viv believe that their parents are boring insurance sales reps....

Netflix’s Queer Eye season 3 premieres Friday, March 15, as revealed in an annoucement video that also teases a new Carly Rae Jepsen song. A reboot of the early 2000s TV show, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Netflix’s own version premiered in early 2018 to the praise of critics and casual viewers alike. The original series ran on Bravo from 2003 to 2007 and featured a team of five gay men - called the Fab Five - who each week gave a straight man a makeover in certain aspects of his life, from fashion to interior design....

Former WWE superstar AJ Mendez and actress Aimee Garcia (Lucifer) are teaming up to write the latest installment of the GLOW comic book series. Though the show recently aired its third season, and the question of a season four renewal remains unresolved, fans will still be able to see their favorite women’s wrestlers - albeit in a slightly different form. The first issue of the GLOW comic series was released in March by IDW Publishing....

This weekend, Netflix is bringing new content for all ages, with two comedy series, an animated one, and the highly anticipated second season of a comedy-drama series. The world of streaming continues offering a variety of content through different platforms, but even though there’s a lot of competition now, life at Netflix continues it course quite smoothly with new movies and TV shows added every week. Last week, the platform added movies like The Tourist and The Evil Dead, as well as new content with the documentary series Cheer, the drama series AJ and the Queen, and the comedy series Medical Police....

At first glance, it would be easy to think of Netflix’s Black Summer as yet another entry in a long line of zombie dramas, but Jaime King, the star of the apocalyptic series, says it’s not really about the undead, and it’s definitely not a prequel to Z Nation. The latter series made its mark on SYFY for five seasons and was unceremoniously canceled by the cable network in 2018, making the desire to connect the two understandable, especially for fans of Z Nation hoping for a sense of closure....

Apple already told us that the 2016 MacBook Pro had set a new online sales record, backed by supply-chain reports of increased component orders, but Slice Intelligence has provided our first look at the scale of those orders. The company reports that the new models took just five days to outsell every high-profile laptop on the U.S. market. It has already outsold combined sales of the Dell XPS 13 and 15 – probably the closest equivalents in the Windows world – which have been on sale for more than ten months....

Apple will officially announce the fiscal results of Q1 2021 tomorrow, but research firms Counterpoint and CyberMedia came out ahead and revealed some details about how the company performed in India during the last quarter. The research reveals that Apple succeeded in doubling its market share in the country thanks to the growth in iPhone sales there. As reported by TechCrunch, the research shows that Apple’s market share in India increased from 2% to 4% in the quarter....

John Boyega’s agent says next Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is arriving next week. Directed by J.J. Abrams after taking over from Colin Trevorrow, the third film from the sequel trilogy also happens to close the Skywalker Saga.
