A rule change in the NCAA could pave the way for the long-running NCAA Football series to make a comeback. First developed by Electronic Arts and Visual Concepts, who would later go on to be acquired by Take-Two Interactive and merged into the 2K label, the original game in what would eventually become the NCAA Football series was titled Bill Walsh College Football and appeared on the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Sega CD in 1993....

Earlier, we posted new iPad SKUs showing Apple is likely launching 24 new models of the device. It is still to be determined whether the four variants in the SKUs include updated iPad 3 models with Lightning connectors or four iPad mini variants. Nintendo’s Switch console will finally be receiving a controller that supports integrated in-game chat support, although it will be coming from a third-party supplier in PDP. Nintendo Switch in-game chat functionality is still being explored by the console itself, which only has a few games that don’t require the mobile app to chat with friends, and no controllers have previously made a point of supporting in-game chat support. Nintendo Switch in-game chat functionality is just one of the things that the company desperately needs to add to its bare-bones online support....

A new trailer for Frozen 2 is set to release on Monday. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, Frozen took the world by storm back in 2013. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel led the animated feature which went on to become a massive box office success, taking in nearly $1.3 billion worldwide on a $150 million budget. Considering the heaps of praise thrown at the movie and its monumental success at the box office, the announcement of a sequel back in 2015 came as no surprise....

According to TonyMacx86, the mid-2011 iMac lineup integrates the Intel BD82Z68 Platform Controller Hub. Indeed, iFixit’s teardown analysis confirms this. The Intel Z68 platform isn’t set for official release until May 11th so it looks like Intel is being really friendly with Apple again. But wait, it gets WAY better… The Z68 platform has a little surprise: This means that Apple would likely be using the Intel’s Smart Response Technology in its iMacs, if not with Snow Leopard, perhaps in an update with Lion....

The long term delays for The New Mutants may have inadvertently helped the film’s marketing ahead of its April 2020 release date. The New Mutants is based on characters from Marvel Comics and is to be a horror film within the superhero genre. As was the case with the X-Men film franchise, The New Mutants was owned by Fox before Disney took over. The horror film, directed by Josh Boone, went into the early stages of development in 2014....

Seagate sent us their new $150 FreeAgent Theater+ HD to review yesterday and we haven’t really put the remote down since. The device picks up a bit from where AppleTV leaves off in terms of format compatibility. Is the interface as polished as AppleTV? Of course not. But it plays just about every media type (movies, photos and music) from your network shares, not just Apple’s preferred file types. It will even play 1080P videos with Dolby sound over Gigabit Ethernet without skipping....

We knew Apple had a beautiful new glass store planned for Palo Alto when plans were discovered last year, but Apple made things official today by announcing a Oct. 27 grand opening for the new location at 340 University Ave. Apple sent out the email above (via FoneArena) to inform customers the store will open at 10 a.m. local time, and the first 1,000 people will get commemorative T-shirts. The 15,030-square-foot store is located just a couple blocks from the old location, which was Steve Jobs’ neighborhood Apple Store, and was expected to cost $3....

New photos leaked online today claim to show the body of the upcoming 5.5-inch iPhone, recently dubbed the “iPhone 6L” in another leak. The parts in the images are said to have come directly from Apple’s supply chain, though that claim is obviously quite difficult to verify. The design of the body matches up with previous leaks (more photos below the break). Apple is reportedly working on two similar versions of the iPhone 6 for release this fall, likely following an announcement on September 9th....

First announced last week, Apple has new Watch bands in a variety or styles for spring, including Sport, Nylon, Classic Buckly, Hermés, and Nike. Digitimes is reporting that Apple will release a brand new ‘entry-level’ 13-inch Retina MacBook in June, with a lower cost than the current 12-inch MacBook. According to the report, the 13-inch MacBook will feature a 2560×1600 panel, with a 226 PPI density – the same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro. This sounds like a compelling product, with better specs at a significantly cheaper price. The report says the 13-inch Retina MacBook will be priced around the current MacBook Air’s $999 price tag....

With the New Mutants finally on their way in the coming months, here’s a rundown of the characters that’ll be appearing and the superpowers they possess. Originally envisioned as part of Fox’s X-Men universe, filming on New Mutants reportedly concluded in September 2017, with director, Josh Boone, touting a scarier take on the mutant world that had more in common with horror than traditional superhero tropes.
