The second beta of iOS 11.3 brought with it a brand new framework. ClassKit is a framework designed for educational apps and will allow developers to create activities that teachers assign to their students. Apple is going to release a brand new app called Classwork, designed to track student’s progress in class and share it with teachers. The screenshots from the teacher settings screen in preferences also shows that teachers will be able to assign activities provided by ClassKit-enabled apps to students from all of their devices....

A new VR peripheral called the Teslasuit Glove could make Virtual Reality more immersive than ever, with haptic displays and motion capture technology to simulate real touch feedback. VR gaming is perhaps more accessible than ever in 2019, as Facebook’s self-contained Oculus Quest headset released this May. Immersive virtual reality has been a dream for the gaming industry since it began. There were some early attempts to tap into VR’s potential, such as Nintendo’s Virtual Boy in 1995, but VR didn’t hit the mainstream until 2016....

A new video published by the YouTube channel Apple Demo this week offers a really interesting look at a prototype version of the iPhone 4S. The video shows the iPhone 4S during the design validation testing phase of its development, with an interesting tie to Steve Jobs’ tenure at Apple. It seems that the next Call of Duty game will keep its feet planted on the ground, as a tweet from a Treyarch design director vehemently denies that it will feature jetpacks. Present in some Call of Duty games set in the future, such as Treyarch’s Black Ops 3, jetpacks were a controversial addition to the franchise. Though some fans praised how jetpacks added new traversal options, the response to their inclusion was mostly negative....

Visual Concepts and 2K Games did come up with NBA 2K22 in September 2021 which offers a basketball simulation video game based on the National Basketball Association. It’s the 23rd installment in the NBA 2K franchise and a successor to NBA 2K21. However, it has received mixed reviews overall on Steam by players and critics which is a bit of a letdown. Meanwhile, some players are reporting about the NBA 2K22 Career Mode Not Working issue....

Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events isn’t just coming back for a second season, but a third one as well. Narrator Lemony Snicket warned viewers throughout the entire first season of that they should not watch the sad tale of the Baudelaire orphans. Even the trailers for the series and the opening theme song - sung by cast member Neil Patrick Harris - warned audiences to “look away”. It would appear that these warnings were ignored however, judging both by the show’s strong ratings and the announcement a few weeks ago that it had been renewed for a second season....

Members of the UK government are seeking to close a tax loophole that currently allows online music, app, and book downloads to avoid the country’s 20% “value added tax” in favor of much lower international tax rates, reports The Guardian. If the push is successful, iTunes customers in the UK will instead be taxed at the appropriate rate for their own country. However, the new law won’t go into effect until January 1, 2015, so there’s still time for things to change....

The Need for Speed Heat title was leaked yesterday ahead of the reveal as EA removed all online traces of Need for Speed games from the franchise’s official Instagram and YouTube accounts. The Need for Speed franchise has had a bit of a rough history, as of late. Ghost Games’ previous Need for Speed game, 2017’s Need for Speed: Payback, failed to majorly improve upon the forgettable 2015 Need for Speed reboot....

Apple has quietly added a new data restore feature to iCloud.com, enabling users to rollback accidentally deleted documents, calendar changes and contacts. The new ‘Restore Files’, ‘Restore Contacts’ and ‘Restore Calendars’ features are hidden in iCloud.com Advanced Settings pane. Seemingly unrelated to iCloud backup, Apple shows snapshots of your recently deleted documents and lets you put them back onto iCloud Drive. This means there is now a way to recover accidentally deleted iCloud documents for the first time, because there is no equivalent to the Trash folder in iCloud....

The next film in the X-Men franchise will be New Mutants and its working title has finally been revealed. Josh Boone has long been set to take on the task of bringing another team of mutants to the big screen, but it won’t feature many of the familiar faces from previous movies. New Mutants will see characters like Magik, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, and more make their big screen debuts, and it took a big step forward with Fox announcing it as part of the X-Men 2018 film slate....
