Here’s what’s new on Netflix this weekend. This weekend, Netflix is taking a break from Christmas content to bring a comedy special, a critically acclaimed biographical drama, and a highly anticipated fantasy TV series. Netflix started adding Christmas movies and TV shows in late November and had a lot more reserved for December, with at least one new holiday movie or TV show releasing each week, so it might be time for something different....

This weekend (January 10), Netflix is adding a documentary about the world of cheerleading, a comedy drama series starring RuPaul, and a comedy series firing shots at medical and police procedural shows. The world of streaming continues to be a competitive one, with various platforms offering different content (both licensed and original), but Netflix continues with its formula of adding new movies and TV shows every week, and it still works quite well....

Netflix’s The Crown will end following season 5, despite the expectation the show would air for six seasons. The program, detailing the history surrounding the British royalty in the Queen Elizabeth II era, has proven to be one of the streaming service’s biggest hits, with each of the first three seasons earning at least an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Ten episodes of season 3 were released on November 17, 2019, and incorporated widespread casting changes from the first two seasons of the drama....

Destiny 2 Warlocks are benefiting from yet another new exploit that makes them insanely powerful - this time, infinite flaming swords. Destiny 2 has produced some spectacular glitches in its time, from the Wish-Ender bow’s multiple massive damage bugs to a glitch that allowed players to completely avoid Destiny 2 bosses’ AOE kill abilities, to the reign of the Guardian-melting Prometheus Lens in the Crucible, players have had a lot of interesting things to enjoy or hate....

Images of what appears to be the face and screen assembly of the next iPhone have appeared on the Taiwanese blog AppleClub [translation]. In the photos, you can see both the inside and outside of the 4.7″ device’s front panel. For the most part it looks just like the current-generation iPhone 5s, though it’s obviously much larger. Unfortunately it’s impossible to tell from these photos if the phone is utilizing a glass or sapphire crystal display....

In an announcement to developers through App Store Connect last night, Apple is requiring that all new apps and updates include a link to their developer’s privacy policy in the app metadata. The new rules come into effect from October 3rd. It seems like even if the app is a plain utility that does not connect to the internet, it must now host a website with a privacy policy page....

Rumors about new Apple AirPods with noise cancellation aren’t exactly new, dating back a couple of years. But now a glyph found in iOS 13.2 reveals what the new AirPods with noise cancellation will look like. They remind me of Apple’s old in-ear headphones, but wireless, similar to how the AirPods look like EarPods without the wires. The icon is found in a component of the system related to accessibility settings, suggesting that these will work as hearing aids, similar to what can be done with the current AirPods....

We can usually get a decent idea of what the insides of an upcoming Mac will look like thanks to announcements from part manufacturers.
