Byte is a new social media app that is cut from the same cloth as Vine, offering 6-second videos to the masses. It could even be considered a reboot of Vine as it’s main premise is very similar. It was also created by the creator of Vine, Dom Hofmann. The trio of Hofmann, Rus Yuspov and Colin Kroll started Vine in 2012. The app became a phenomenon soon after. Vine was made up entirely of videos between 2 and 6 seconds long which were mostly rapid-fire comedy sketches....

Earlier today, leaked schematics depicted the possibility of the iPhone 8 featuring the Touch ID sensor on the back as Apple faces difficulty integrating it into the display. Now, however, an unverified report from iDropNews claims that Apple is testing two different prototypes: one with Touch ID on the front and another with the sensor on the back. The report also offers up a few additional details… The report, citing Foxconn sources, claims that despite two prototypes still being in testing, it’s “highly-likely” that Apple will ship the model with Touch ID integrated into the display....

Netflix has announced theatrical and streaming release dates for several Fall 2019 films. Last year was a pivotal one for the streamer, as far as its efforts to compete in the annual movie awards season are concerned. A new clip released from Toy Story 4 reintroduces fans of the franchise to Bo Peep. Apple seems to be working hard with its card company partners to promote Apple Pay in the UK. Alongside a MasterCard promo offering free travel in London, Visa Europe is today launching a two-month long ad campaign designed to emphasize the speed, ease and reliability of the service. Featuring a central theme of anticipation, the campaign uses imagery that captures the pause before a primary action – the weightlifter before pressing the lift, the pianist before striking a chord, the chameleon before making a strike – the scenes then snap into the dramatic conclusions as an analogy to how fast, easy and reliable using a Visa card in Apple Pay is in everyday situations such as paying to use the Tube or in a café … The ads will be broadcast on TV and also shown as promoted videos on social media....

Netflix today has raised its prices slightly for new customers for its standard and premium plans, while existing customers will start paying the higher prices in November.
