Spring is here, and that may mean sunshine… but it also means lots of rainy days that will probably end up spent on the couch doing some Netflix binging. The streaming service may be constantly adding new series and movies (including an absolutely huge number of Netflix Originals), but each months sees the site losing a few films and series as well. This month, Netflix bids farewell to a surprising number of James Bond films, as well as Star Wars: The Clone Wars. If any of these are a favorite to stream on a rainy day, better watch them before they are gone for good!

A Whole Lot Of James Bond

Netflix is currently home to many of the classic James Bond films, but no fewer than eleven of the spy thrillers are going to be leaving the streaming service on April 1st. Casino Royale, Diamonds Are Forever, Die Another Day, Goldfinger, Live And Let Die, Octopussy, The Living Daylights, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, The World Is Not Enough, and You Only Live Twice are all departing. That’s a whole lot of 007 to say goodbye to this month!

Leaving: April 1

Happy Feet

Happy Feet, the adorable family-friendly story of a dancing penguin (which is, if possible, even cuter than it sounds) is also leaving Netflix this month. The streaming service also doesn’t offer the follow-up, Happy Feet II, so fans of the films will be stuck come April 1. That said, there are plenty of other sweet animated features still available, so the kids will still have plenty of other options to watch.

Multiple Adam Sandler Films

Adam Sandler might have a multi-film deal with Netflix that keeps pumping out wildly popular but critically panned comedies, but that doesn’t mean that his entire back catalog is going to remain available to stream.

This month, his classics Billy Madison (idiotically charming drunk rich kid has to go back to school, covering every grade in a week) and Happy Gilmore (idiotically charming hockey fan has to win a golf tournament to save his grandma’s house) are both leaving. Adam Sandler fans still have plenty of him to watch, though, including his new stand-up special.

Leaving: April 1st

  I Love You, Man

Before Paul Rudd was Ant-Man, he was the charmingly non-threatening star of romantic comedies… and this bromantic comedy from 2009. I Love You, Man, is all about a sweet groom who realizes that there is a serious lack of male friendships in his life, and he needs to find himself a bestie to stand next to him at his wedding. While it may follow plenty of the usual comedy cliches, I Love You, Man is sweet and silly.

Luther (Season 1-4)

The incredible Idris Elba stars in this crime-drama about a genius murder detective who may be dedicated, but who struggles with his own darkness. The fifth season of this thrilling series was just released this year, but was not yet available on Netflix, and now the first four seasons are also leaving at the start of the month.

Sex And The City: The Movie

The original series, Sex And The City, and the second film (Sex And The City 2) were already unavailable on Netflix, but now the first film is also leaving the streaming service in April. The follow up to the series, the film follows Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha in their forties, no longer young women on the prowl, but just as glamorous as ever. Set over the course of a year, Carrie and Big are still the focus, as well as the clothes that were always the fifth star of the show.

Wallander (Season 1-4)

Luther isn’t the only crime drama to be departing the streaming service this month. Wallander, a Swedish crime series about a disillusioned cop in a quiet area of Sweden, will be leaving on April 1.

Wallander might not have received the kind of attention that American cop dramas do, but watching the titular character struggle to deal with the issues of his private life (including a father with advancing dementia) while trying to crack cases makes for a beautiful show. (And for once, it’s nice to see a cop show not set in New York!)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

It should come as no surprise that more Star Wars content is leaving Netflix, as Disney prepares to launch its own streaming service, Disney +. The latest victims of the split are the Clone Wars series; Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Seasons 1–5 and Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions are all leaving Netflix this month. There’s still time to catch a few remaining Star Wars films (anyone who missed Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters can stream it now), but get ready to watch them all disappear soon.

Leaving: April 7

Video Game High School (Season 1-3)

Love gaming, superheroes, and teen shows? Check out Video Game High School before it leaves Netflix mid-month. The series (which ran from 2012 - 2014) takes place in a future world where gaming is not only extremely immersive, but a serious sport. As the title suggests, the series is set in a high school where gifted players train in their particular game genre while going through all the usual teen drama. Definitely a quirky show that won’t appeal to everyone, this is still a great watch for those who want their teen shows a little less rooted in reality.

Leaving: April 13

Silver Linings Playbook

The last film to leave Netflix this month is The Silver Linings Playbook, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. It may sound like the star cast of a rom-com, and there’s definitely some crossed wires and romance going on here, but this is definitely not a fluffy comedy. Instead, The Silver Linings Playbook throws together two people who have some big problems. Cooper’s Pat has just been released from a mental hospital, while Lawrence’s Tiffany is recently widowed and struggling. The film is a beautiful look at mental health, with a cast that can carry the subject matter and balance it perfectly with humor. This Oscar-winner is definitely worth a watch before it goes.
