This weekend, Netflix is bringing a stand-up special, a coming-of-age series, the second season of a sci-fi series, and a romance movie. February has come and gone, and with it came some anticipated titles and new seasons, such as To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Locke & Key, and Narcos: México season 2, further proving that Netflix has nothing to worry about amidst the streaming wars.
This month also saw the arrival of a bunch of licensed content, most notably The Pianist, the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street, Good Time, season 8 of Arrow, and season 4 of Better Call Saul. The final days of February will welcome The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Jerry Maguire, and as it happens on the first day of every month, March 1st will bring a lot of new titles to Netflix’s catalogue – such as Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, a double dose of crime with Donnie Brasco and Goodfellas, the comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, two Resident Evil titles (Apocalypse and Extinction), the 1996 classic Space Jam, and the critically acclaimed Shawshank Redemption.

Pete Davidson’s first ever Netflix stand-up special is finally available to stream this weekend. Pete Davidson: Alive From New York was filmed at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, and the comedian addresses the usual topics from his routines: weed, sex, mental health, and celebrities. Shots are fired, of course, especially at Louis C.K. and Davidson’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande, all with his signature sense of humor, going from self-awareness to touching upon sensitive topics.
I Am Not Okay With This
Netflix’s I Am Not Okay With This is a TV series that blends drama, fantasy, and a coming-of-age story. Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Charles Forsman, the series follows Sydney Novak (Sophia Lillis), a teenager navigating through all the ups and downs of high school and adolescence while she also deals with the complexities of her family, her sexuality, and mysterious superpowers awakening within her. I Am Not Okay With This reunites Lillis with fellow IT cast member Wyatt Oleff, who plays Sydney’s neighbor and friend, Stanley Barber.
Altered Carbon - season 2
Two years after its debut, Altered Carbon is back with a second season on Netflix this weekend. This time, Anthony Mackie will take the lead as his character, Takeshi Kovacs (played in season 1 mainly by Joel Kinnaman), was re-sleeved at the end of season 1. Altered Carbon season 2 will follow Kovacs in a new mission in Harlan’s World, where he finds the planet at war, as well as his long-lost love, Quellcrist Falconer (Renée Elise Goldsberry), lurking in the shadows – and will also come across with his original sleeve (Will Yun Lee).
All The Bright Places
All The Bright Places is a romance movie directed by Brett Haley and based on the novel of the same name by Jennifer Niven. It’s the story of Violet Marley (Elle Fanning) and Theodore Finch (Justice Smith), a young couple who struggle with the emotional and physical scars of past trauma and mental illness, and together find meaning and joy even in the smallest moments. Netflix’s All The Bright Places addresses topics like mental health, its impact on relationships, and the beauty of young love. Also starring are Alexandra Shipp, Keegan-Michael Key, and Luke Wilson.
