For the first weekend of 2020, Netflix is bringing a new drama series, the final season of another drama series, and a new adaptation of a horror classic. The last month of 2019 was full of Christmas content, but it also brought some critically acclaimed movies (such as Marriage Story and The Two Popes), a new fantasy series with The Witcher, and a lot of comedy. Netflix also added movies like Jarhead: Law of Return, Sweetheart, Lawless, and The Secret Life of Pets 2 on the last week of December, so there was something for every taste.

As it happens on the first day of the month, Netflix added a lot of licensed content on January 1st, including many titles from the James Bond collection. Lord of the Rings fans can now enjoy The Two Towers and Return of the King; Quentin Tarantino fans can now watch both Kill Bill movies, and for those looking for family-friendly content, there’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Other notable additions are Catch Me If You Can, A Cinderella Story, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Inception, and Pan’s Labyrinth.

As for original content, Netflix is adding a new drama series about a young skater, the third and final season of a Canadian drama, and a new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s most famous work. Here are the best movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this weekend - January 3.
