In celebration of The Witcher’s monumental success, Netflix is now in search of a Witcher of their own to help with security. The series debuted on the streaming platform on December 20 and was initially met with mixed reviews from critics. Viewers, on the other hand, raved about the show and it quickly became one of the most popular TV shows on the platform for this year. Thankfully for fans of the series, The Witcher has already been renewed for a second season and showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich has plans far beyond that as well.

Based on the short stories and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher centers on a monster hunter named Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) as he comes to play an important role in the power struggles happening in the war-torn world he inhabits known as The Continent. The Netflix series is the latest adaptation of Sapkowski’s stories, hot on the heels of the incredibly successful video game franchise from CD Projekt Red. Even the Witcher himself, Henry Cavill, has expressed numerous times that he’s a fan of Sapkowski’s work, especially the video games. It’s clear that the hype around The Witcher won’t be fading anytime soon, and Netflix is jumping on the bandwagon with fans.

In a funny turn of events, Netflix actually posted a job opening explaining how the company is in search of a Witcher to help with security. The posting states that Netflix is looking for a “self-motivated” and “results-oriented lone wolf” with a “passion for problem-solving” and “monster-slaying (literally and figuratively).” The posting goes on to explain that they’ll provide the chosen applicant with “excellent training and support” along with “plenty of opportunities for upward mobility.” The ideal candidate would have a “four-year degree from an accredited Witcher school” or have “equivalent life experience” and must “have an innate understanding of the lesser evil and greater good.”

Not only is this post a fun way to further involve fans of the show, but it shows that Netflix is clearly enjoying the excitement around their new fantasy series. This excitement carries over behind-the-scenes of The Witcher as well, as Hissrich has been very open in sharing her creative process with fans. Hissrich’s passion for The Witcher is evident in the way she openly communicates with Netflix viewers about the show and what her hopes are for it. It’s also apparent that she’s a massive fan of the source material, which is proof that The Witcher’s future is in excellent hands.

This job posting is a great, and hilarious, way to bring The Witcher community closer together. Not only that, but the posting also states that Netflix is actually accepting video applications that could be featured on their social media. This is a fun way for fans to truly express their love for the show in a creative way while maintaining excitement for the series as season 2 gets underway. Considering season 2 doesn’t come out until 2021, Netflix still has plenty of time to create more immersive activities like this for fans of The Witcher.
