Update: Sony has also released a domestic trailer for the movie, which can be seen below.

New footage from The Angry Birds Movie 2 international trailer arrives, while Pete Davidson and others have also joined the cast. As far as video game movie adaptations go, Sony’s first The Angry Birds Movie proved to be a rather successful one. The movie earned over $350 million worldwide at the box office, despite a mixed reception from audiences. Thanks to the performance of the original, it only took a few months for the studio to start development on the Angry Birds sequel.

Sony is not looking to just repeat the same formula with Angry Birds Movie 2, though, as they’ve brought on new writers and directors. Ice Age’s Peter Ackerman wrote the script for the sequel, while Thurop Van Orman (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack) is directing the movie alongside co-director John Rice. Sony has so far only offered a small glimpse at what the chilling sequel will contain with an Angry Birds Movie 2 teaser trailer they released last month, but now the time has come to show off what else Angry Birds Movie 2 has to offer.

Sony debuted a brand new international trailer today for The Angry Birds Movie 2 that reveals the alliance between the birds and the pigs. They put their own issues aside when a third island is discovered, who are planning to destroy both Bird and Pig Island. Together, they will attempt to stop the ice island, led by Zeta (Leslie Jones), from destroying their homes.

The uneasy alliance between the birds and pigs is made clear throughout the trailer, as Red (Jason Sudeikis) and Leonard (Bill Hader) jockey for control of the newly formed group. Angry Birds Movie 2’s super team includes returning birds Chuck (Josh Gad), Bomb (Danny McBride), and Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage), as well as new faces like Chuck’s sister Silver (Rachel Bloom), Leonard’s assistant Courtney (Awkwafina), and techpig Garry (Sterling K. Brown). Additionally, producer John Cohen revealed on Twitter that SNL’s Pete Davidson and Silicon Valley’s Zach Woods have joined the cast and even shared a look at them.

The additions of Davidson and Woods help round out an already impressive voice cast for Angry Birds Movie 2. Along with all the talented names already mentioned, the cast also includes rapper Nicki Minaj, Get Out’s Lil Rel Howery, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Dove Cameron, The Florida Project’s Brooklyn Prince, Overboard’s Eugenio Derbez, and fellow SNL castmate Beck Bennett in unknown roles. With a good mixture of stars and comedians, hopefully The Angry Birds Movie 2 will prove to be a well-received entry to the franchise.
