With the recent announcement of the Noob Saibot fighter in Mortal Kombat 11, as well as DLC content, there’s been a steady stream of teasers from NetherRealm Studios about the other goodies that fans of the series can expect when the game releases soon. Now, there’s been an announcement on Twitter about the newest Mortal Kombat 11 fighter, The Kollector.

Mortal Kombat 11 is due for release on April 23, 2019 on all available platforms including the Nintendo Switch. Fans of the series don’t have much longer to wait, and the rate at which trailers for new characters and bosses have been coming out, the community is optimistic for the game to be fully-fledged on release despite the convoluted schedule around its closed beta.

From the video released on Twitter by series co-creator Ed Boon, it looks like the new Mortal Kombat 11 fighter The Kollector is all about… pulling off sick kombo moves? It appears to be a hand chakram that he’s using against Baraka, who’s definitely looking worse for wear by the time The Kollector impales him on both weapons and goes in for the finish. The clip doesn’t show much else off about The Kollector’s full arsenal of moves, but it does imply that chaining attacks are going to be the way to go for this particular playstyle.

Mortal Kombat 11 fighter The Kollector is now one in a long line of playable characters that have been announced for the title. The introduction of time traveling teased in previous footage for the game also showed popular characters fighting younger versions of themselves, so it looks like the innovation doesn’t just stop there. From characters like Kotal Kahn to Shang Tsung (based off Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), there appear to be plenty of callbacks to fan favorite portrayals, so The Kollector being a bit of an unknown entity is intriguing in itself.

There’s not much longer til Mortal Kombat 11 is released, and it is likely that we’re going to learn a lot more about The Kollector in the lead-up to the title going live. The Twitter teaser is unlikely to be the end of it; we recommend that you keep your eyes peeled for an official video reveal of some kind to come soon so that you can get the jump on figuring out his playstyle and all of his impressive kombo moves.
