John Boyega’s agent says next Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is arriving next week. Directed by J.J. Abrams after taking over from Colin Trevorrow, the third film from the sequel trilogy also happens to close the Skywalker Saga. Because of this, more people are excited about how the long-running narrative will ultimately end.  But with just a couple of months left before it hits theaters, there’s still little the public know about its story by design.

Lucasfilm and Disney are running a tight marketing campaign so as not to give any inkling about what fans can expect from The Rise of Skywalker. Aside from the confirmation that the story will pick a year after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the reveal that Ian McDermid is set to reprise his role as Emperor Palpatine, things can go an infinite number of ways for Episode IX. It doesn’t help that there’s a string of new key players boarding the franchise, not to mention the return of the Knights of Ren after not showing up in Episode VIII. Fortunately, however, a brand new trailer is already on the horizon, potentially giving the fans more details about the movie.

According to John Boyega’s agent Femi Oguns, The Rise of Skywalker trailer will debut at the start of next week. The announcement came via one of the film’s banners with the Monday Night Football logo on it. Check out the photo posted on the source’s official Instagram account below:

For several days now, rumors have been swirling around that the next The Rise of Skywalker trailer will soon arrive, which Oguns confirms. That said, it seems odd that the announcement came from him, not to mention the fact that he used a graphic with a watermark of a fan-account on social media. What’s curious now is whether or not Lucasfilm and Disney are planning to follow his reveal any confirmation on their own. Typically, a short clip accompanies the official announcement, like a teaser to the actual trailer.

Chances are that this is going to be the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker before it rolls our in theaters in December. The public’s first look at the project took place during this year’s Star Wars Celebration, followed by another preview at D23. Instead of the traditional marketing clips, shorter TV spots will be released leading up to its premiere, giving fans smaller doses of what’s in the film. That’s more likely for the better as it will preserve the bigger narrative points in the movie, and considering that it’s the culminating story, there will be a lot of it. All that being said, it would also be nice to learn more details, especially in terms of the new characters coming in to the film.
