Netflix has today launched a new integration that allows Instagram Stories users to include linked artwork for its movies and TV shows directly in posts. This works for Netflix’s original content as well as content from third-party studios. Reported by Variety, Netflix rolled out the new Instagram Stories share option today. With the new option Netflix isn’t allowing users to share actual footage from its content library, but rather the artwork of movies and TV shows....

Apple is working on a new version of the AirPods truly wireless earbuds for release later this year, featuring a new wireless chip and support for ‘Hey Siri’ activation, according to a report from Bloomberg today. This is despite the fact the first-generation model continue to be supply constrained on Apple.com, more than a year after release. This would mean users would be able to interact with Siri hands-free, an improvement over the current AirPods hardware which requires an awkward double-tap gesture....

. As we discovered yesterday, Apple is updating its Apple TV ever so slightly…soon. Today, the Federal Communications Commission released the dimensions of this new Apple TV product (via Engadget) in its labeling documentation. The 3,2 is 93.78mm square compared to the 98mm of the current model, but we’re not quite sure why Apple would go through the trouble of making it just a little smaller. However, Apple likely accomplished the shrinkage with new hardware including the Broadcom BCM4334 Wireless chip (code, right) that can also incidentally pick up FM radio (just like the dormant FM radio receiver in the same chip inside iOS devices)....

Instagram has been playing with like counts for several years now. In about half a dozen countries, the platform has been doing a test where it hides like counts altogether. Now Instagram is giving users the choice to customize how like counts work in a new test. Reported by The Verge, the latest test is happening globally for small group of Instagram users. Instead of removing like counts when viewing others’ posts as it did in the testing that started in 2019, those part of the new experiment will get three choices: “choosing not to see like counts on anyone’s posts, turning them off for their own posts, or keeping the original experience....

With iOS 12.4 or later, there’s a new iPhone set up option. You can now perform a local iPhone data migration when setting up your new iPhone. As part of Quick Start, you can now Transfer Your Data directly, without requiring the use iCloud or an iTunes backup. The iPhone defaults to using local WiFi, but you can transfer wired using the USB3 Camera Adapter and a Lightning cable. To use the new iPhone set up option, both the new factory-reset iPhone and your existing iPhone must be running iOS 12....

The latest cinematic take on the legend of King Arthur is due to hit cinemas this May, as Guy Ritchie brings his unique style to the classic myth. King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, which stars Charlie Hunnam as the potential king, has been pushed back from its original release date in March, prompting some fans to wonder about how much faith Warner Bros. has in the project. It’s a bit of a gamble, given the past failures of King Arthur movies, but having big names like Richie and Hunnam on this project may well be enough to make it a success....

Apple hasn’t officially named the next major version of macOS just yet, but we’ll likely see it debut at WWDC 2017 on June 5 in San Jose. Last year Apple used the conference to shift the name from OS X to macOS — matching the three other platforms including iOS, watchOS, and tvOS — but the version number continued from 10.11 to 10.12. While Apple could take this year as the opportunity to jump to macOS 11 and start a new era, one sign discovered by the always detailed blog Pike’s Universum suggests Apple will continue with macOS 10....

Construction of Apple’s second retail store in Taiwan may be well underway, new photos show. The country’s first official Apple store opened in the Taipei 101 skyscraper last June with 130 employees. Images documenting the construction of Taipei’s massive Far Eastern Xinyi Shopping Mall posted on the Taiwan City Forum depict a sleek, low-profile structure located on a highly visible lot directly in front of the towering new mall. With curved glass walls, a polished, gently sloping roof nearly identical in style to Apple Michigan Avenue, and an interior structure closely resembling that of Apple Park’s Visitor Center, the structure bears all the familiar design characteristics of a modern Apple store....

The season 1 finale of Netflix’s Ragnarok series brings the conflict between Magne (David Stakston) and the Jutuls to a head in a dramatic final battle, but a sudden cliffhanger ending prevents the season from providing much closure for its biggest storylines. Following several recent reports claiming that Apple was preparing to introduce a new gold color option for the next iPhone in addition to multiple color options rumored for a new low-cost iPhone, today MacBoutic (via Engadget) posted images allegedly showing the gold-colored back casing for the device. Yesterday KGI’s Mingchi Kuo was the first reliable source to report that a next-generation iPhone would include “golden casing” alongside a new 128GB option....

Netflix has supported downloading movies and TV shows for offline viewing on iOS for a while now, but the process has been a bit manual. Android gained automatic downloads last summer, and now the iPhone and iPad are finally catching up and gaining the handy feature. On Apple’s public specs page, it says that the new Apple TV includes an A8 chip and that’s about it in terms of the bundled SoC. However, Apple’s developer documentation goes into more detail specifically listing the hardware as having 2 GB RAM (via Steve Troughton-Smith). This means the internals are actually better than the A8 in the iPhone 6 and latest-generation iPod touch, which only have 1 GB of RAM....

Opening Apple Stores in India has been something of a challenge for the company. The law normally requires companies to manufacture at least 30% of their products within India before they can open a single-brand store under a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rule, but TNW is reporting that a decision to liberalize the FDI deal will finally provide the go-ahead for Apple Stores. NBA 2K20, the latest in the annual basketball franchise from publisher 2K, came out late last week and it’s already getting review bombed by users on Steam and Metacritic. That makes it the third year in a row that the series’ latest entry has received overwhelmingly negative user scores, with NBA 2K17 being the last release to get even a marginal rating.
